A real person, not a call centre

Ruan's been in IT since 1994 — starting out managing the campus network for a few thousand students at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, back when running your own servers wasn't something everyone did yet. From there: programming mobile systems and early AI applications through the 2000s, then 14 years as a PHP developer and systems administrator at New Dimension Technology in Cape Town — everything from Linux and Windows server infrastructure to ecommerce builds. Willekat launched in 2022 to bring that same level of work straight to West Coast clients, without a company or a queue in between.

That's also where the itemised pricing and check-before-handover promise comes from — over 30 years of being the person who actually opens the machine, not just relays a ticket number. If something's wrong, you hear it straight.

If something goes wrong after handover: software issues get fixed here, directly. Hardware still under warranty goes back to the supplier — and gets followed up until it's actually resolved, not just logged and forgotten. Out of warranty, we'll do everything we can to repair it.
